Michael Connelly Discusses Season 2 of ‘Bosch’

Bestselling author Michael Connelly recently spoke to Deadline about the upcoming season 2 of the amazon produced television show Bosch. The show, which returns to Amazon Prime on March 11, is of course based on the books written by Connelly featuring his character LAPD Homicide Detective Harry Bosch.

Here’s a quick snippet from Deadlines website:

“The show will take you through a number of issues impacting society today including police corruption and domestic terrorism,” added Connelly who says that his Bosch novel Trunk Music remains the backbone to the streaming show. In addition Season 2 will borrow from such Bosch books as The Drop and The Last Coyote. “They’re about 20 years old and needed to be updated with new storytelling,” said Connelly.

I’m glad they are updating the stories a bit, as some of Connelly’s novels are more than two decades old. It’ll be interesting to see exactly which issues the producers of the show chose to tackle, and how they approach the subject of domestic terrorism when that seems to be a hot button issue in Hollywood right now.

Updates are fine, I just hope they leave the character of Bosch alone – if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. If you want to watch the show but aren’t an Amazon Prime member, you have about two months to sign up!
