Exclusive: Check Out The Cover Art For Matthew Betley’s Next Novel, ‘Oath Of Honor’ (With Plot Details)

Matthew Betley took the political thriller world by storm earlier this year when his debut novel, Overwatch, drew comparisons to early work from legendary authors like Brad Thor and the late Vince Flynn.

One of the reasons for those comparisons is because Betley is signed to Atria Books (a division of Simon & Schuster), which is also the publishing home of Flynn’s Mitch Rapp (now written by Kyle Mills), and Thor’s Scot Harvath series. However, Betley’s talent speaks for itself, and he’s become one of the most promising up-and-coming authors in recent memory.

Overwatch introduced readers to Logan West, Betley’s new series protagonist. West is a former Marine who, when we first meet him, is battling alcoholism and PTSD. Creating such a flawed character and pulling it off the way Betley did is no easy task. But by doing so, Logan is someone readers instantly relate to and connect with, which makes following him as he inadvertently finds himself in a global race against the clock to track down and stop a terrorist group who is trying to draw the United States into a war, all the more compelling.

If you haven’t read Overwatch yet, you’re not just missing out on this year’s best debut novel, you’re missing one of the best political thrillers of 2016, period. Change that, and order your copy today!

For those who’ve read Overwatch and are counting down the days until the next book comes out, here’s a little something to hold you over. First, scroll down to see the plot details, then keep scrolling to check out the cover art. (Spoiler: It looks amazing!)

Oath of Honor, the explosive second novel in Matthew Betley’s Logan West series, hits bookstores on March 14, 2017, and is already available for pre-order wherever books are sold.

From the publisher:

“A break-neck, edge-of-your-seat thriller that moves from the Aleutian Islands to North Korean spy ships to secret Sudanese prisons as former Marines Logan West and John Quick, now members of an FBI special task force, uncover a global conspiracy that threatens America’s position in the current international balance of power.

Logan West and John Quick are sent to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, to investigate the possible presence of a Russian black ops team on a mission to steal United States next-generation technology. The resulting violent confrontation triggers a global search for the stolen technology and threatens to pit the US against China in a looming shadow war and technology race. As Logan and John—joined by the chief of the CIA’s Special Operations Group, Cole Matthews—battle their way through Spain, the Mediterranean, and ultimately, across Sudan, an imminent threat arises at home that FBI Deputy Director Mike Benson must face and determine if it is part of the deadly global conspiracy.

Oath of Honor is an intense and gripping follow-up to former Marine Matthew Betley’s “brilliantly conceived” (Clive Cussler) Overwatch and solidifies his place among the greatest contemporary thriller writers.”
