Andrew Gross To Release His Next Novel, ‘The Saboteur,’ In August

51kVbqC15PL._SX327_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg2016 marked a big change in Andrew Gross’ career. Prior to last year, Gross was known primarily as a thriller/mystery writer, having penned multiple standalone novels and four books in his Ty Huck detective series.

Leaving modern thrillers behind, Gross signed a deal with Minotaur Books to write historical fiction novels. The One Man came out last August, and with it, Gross silenced any doubters who might have wondered how his writing style would translate to his new genre.

Truth be told, The One Man was one of the best novels to come out last year regardless of genre, and it was widely praised by fans and critics alike.

No matter what type of book you normally enjoy, we highly recommend you pick up a copy of The One Man. At its core, Gross’ novel is a spy thriller about a man tasked with sneaking into the most dangerous Nazi death camp, Auschwitz, to rescue a man who holds the secret to creating the world’s first Atomic bomb. However, the book is so much more than that, as Gross adds in a love story, deception, betrayal, family issues, and heart-pounding suspense.

While it was clear The One Man was a standalone novel, readers have been dying to find out how Gross will follow up a book so widely regarded as one of the best historical fiction novels of the last decade. Now, it appears, we have an answer to that question!

Gross’ second novel with Minotaur Books, titled The Saboteur, is scheduled to come out on August 22, 2017. Based on true events, The Saboteur is set in 1943 and, like The One Man, involves a plot about the Nazis’ attempt to construct the first A-bomb.

Check out the plot details below:

Kurt Nordstrum, an engineer in Oslo, puts his life aside to take up arms against the Germans as part of the Norwegian resistance. After the loss of his fiancée, his outfit whittled to shreds, he commandeers a coastal steamer and escapes to England to transmit secret evidence of the Nazis’s progress towards an atomic bomb at an isolated factory in Norway. There, he joins a team of dedicated Norwegians in training in the Scottish Highlands for a mission to disrupt the Nazis’ plans before they advance any further.

Parachuted onto the most unforgiving terrain in Europe, braving the fiercest of mountain storms, Nordstrum and his team attempt the most daring raid of the war, targeting the heavily-guarded factory built on a shelf of rock thought to be impregnable, a mission even they know they likely will not survive. Months later, Nordstrum is called upon again to do the impossible, opposed by both elite Nazi soldiers and a long-standing enemy who is now a local collaborator—one man against overwhelming odds, with the fate of the war in the balance, but the choice to act means putting the one person he has a chance to love in peril.

While we’re still months away from its release, The Saboteur is available for pre-order here and anywhere else books are sold. Don’t forget to check back for updates, as we’ll be covering Gross’ novel all the way up to its release.
