While fans might have hoped for more of detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles, who were last seen in the 2007 thriller, I know a Secret, Gerritsen’s latest is being called a work of “romantic suspense,” more in line with other standalones she’s written including, most recently, Playing with Fire (2015).
