Meg Gardiner’s Highly-Anticipated Third UNSUB Book Coming in February 2020

On February 18, 2020, FBI profiler Caitlin Hendrix returns to take on a terrifying new serial killer in The Dark Corners of the Night, the latest novel from Edgar winner Meg Gardiner.

Gardiner, who launched her new series in 2017 with the hit novel UNSUB, made headlines back in April when Deadline reported that she and fellow The Story Factory writers Steve Hamilton and Reed Farrel Coleman were moving to Blackstone Publishing. The move, which saw all three writers leave Penguin Random House, was engineered by powerhouse agent Shane Salerno, who also reps Don Winslow and Adrian McKinty, among others.

The unprecedented deal made plenty of waves in the publishing world, leaving readers excited for what was to come . . . and we now have our first look at what to expect from Gardiner’s next thriller—which follows Caitlin Hendrix to Los Angeles where she’ll attempt to stop a killer known as the “Midnight Man.” Check out the cover art and plot details below.

Her work is what keeps her going, but something about this UNSUB–unknown subject–doesn’t sit right. She soon realizes that this case will test not only her skills but also her dedication, for within the heart of a killer lives a secret that mirrors Caitlin’s own past.
