Go, go, go, go, go, go — there’s a big name entering the fiction waters later this year with famed, award-winning rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson set to release The Accomplice, his debut crime novel, on September 3, 2024.
Though the Queens-born “In Da Club” star turned entrepreneur, actor, and producer is perhaps better known for his sharp lyrics and memorable movie roles (he was last seen alongside Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone in Expend4bles), make no mistake, Jacskson’s impressive resume already includes “New York Times bestseller.” That’s because Jackson has previously released two nonfiction books—first in 2009 with The 50th Law, which sold over a quarter of a million copies across all formats, and then again in 2020 when he penned Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, which hit #2 on the Times list after its release.
For Jackson, fiction writing is merely a new way of continuing to tell stories, something he’s done through his music (his albums have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide), but also on the film and television side through G-Unit Film & Television, Inc., which he founded in 2005. In October 2018, Jackson and Starz/Lionsgate closed an “unprecedented deal” (through his production company), which has been touted as “among the most significant deals to date for an Executive Producer in premium television.” Already, Jackson has fostered several hit shows, including Power, which launched in 2014 and ran for six seasons.
In order to bring his new crime series to life on the page—which will follow the story of Nia Turner, the first Black female ranger—Jackson has teamed with Aaron Philip Clark, who will share writing duties. Clark, an author, screenwriter, and creative writing instructor at UCLA, holds a BFA in Writing for Film & Television and an MFA in Fiction. His 2021 novel, Under The Color Of Law, was nominated for the International Thriller Writers (ITW) award and was the 2021 Book Pipeline Adaptation winner.

The New York Times bestselling multitalented artist makes his fiction debut with this electrifying novel—The Accomplice combines the imaginative page-turning suspense of S. A. Cosby’s novels with the high-tension thrills of the Netflix blockbuster series Money Heist.
In The Accomplice, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson introduces readers to New York-born and Texas-bred Nia Turner, who always dreamt of becoming a Texas Ranger. She knows the dangers of the job, and as the first Black female ranger, she knows the politics, but she’s never encountered a criminal like Desmond Bell. A Vietnam vet turned thief, Desmond steals more than money; he steals the secrets of the rich and powerful and blackmails them for millions. When Desmond steals from the Duchamps, the wealthiest family in the country, Nia’s investigation into the robbery threatens to expose him and the criminal enterprise he works for. As the bodies pile up, Nia digs deeper for the truth, putting her life and career in danger. It’s a deadly cat-and-mouse game between ranger and thief, but to protect their family’s secrets, the Duchamps won’t hesitate to kill them both.
