If you don’t know who Matthew Betley is, you will soon! Betley’s debut novel, Overwatch, hit bookstores back in March and has been turning heads ever since.
Overwatch introduces readers to Logan West, a former Marine officer who–by answering a dead man’s phone–inadvertently triggers a race to find a terrorist organization that is in search of an artifact, which is linked to an attack that’s designed to draw the United States into a major conflict with Iran.
Betley has drawn early comparisons to legends of the genre such as the late Vince Flynn, and the current King of Faction, Brad Thor. Overwatch is my pick for best debut novel of the year, and I’m looking forward to reading a lot more Logan West adventures in the future.
Speaking of which, Betley just announced today that his second novel, due out next March, will be titled Oath of Honor. While we don’t have any cover art or a link to pre-order yet, it’s never too soon to pencil in a must-read novel on the calendar!
