Book Announcement: Steve Hamilton’s Second Nick Mason Novel Is Due Out In Early 2017!

Steve Hamilton delivered one of the surprisingly awesome, must-read novels of 2016.

The Second Life of Nick Mason introduced readers to Hamilton’s new series protagonist, Nick Mason, a criminal who was given a get-out-of-jail-free card, but with a catch…

Mason traded in the remainder if his prison sentence to run errands for a criminal mastermind on the outside. Having lost everything, including his wife and daughter, when he was arrested and sent up the river, Nick views the situation as an opportunity to put his life back together.

The problem, though, is that one of the conditions of his release–which was secured by a crime boss who managed to get Mason’s sentence overturned–is that he answer his cell phone any time it rings and follows the directions he’s given to the T.

As his “assignments” continue to get more dangerous, Nick struggles to avoid police detection and reconnect with his estranged wife, who is now remarried and happy with her new life.

I’m not going to spoil the ending, but the book closes out by making it abundantly clear that Nick must one day find a way out of his predicament. And now, it would appear that Nick Mason might have a plan to make that happen!

Exit Strategy, the second novel in Hamilton’s electrifying new series, is scheduled to hit bookstores on May 2, 2017. While official plot details are still unknown, the title seems to indicate where the story is headed, which was to be expected.

It’s worth noting too that Exit Strategy will be the second book of Hamilton’s four-book deal with his new publisher, Putnam, and the last Nick Mason novel for at least a couple of years. It’s believed that the final two books on his deal will be new titles for the author’s other series, starring fan-favorite protagonist Alex McKnight.

I’ll be all over this book leading up to its release and will update this article once official plot details and cover art are revealed!
