A Book Spy Review: ‘The Target’ by Brad Taylor

51y+ULFTuELHappy Tuesday, thriller fans!

And a happy day it is, indeed, thanks to the release of Brad Taylor’s brand new e-Short The Target.

The Target is the first story from Brad Taylor (novel or short story) that does not feature anyone from the Taskforce. Instead, this story is centered around Israeli operators Aaron and Shoshana, two fan-favorite characters who first appeared in Taylor’s sixth novel, Days Of Rage.

Set in 1998, three years before 9/11 (and before the Taskforce was even created), the Samson team–whose lineage comes straight from the Wrath of God teams who took out the terrorists behind the Munich murders—is a year removed from a botched mission that left a serious black eye on their resume. In the aftermath, they’re forced to take on a castoff recruit named Shoshana.

After an initial get-to-know-you phase, the Samson team is summoned to the Mossad chief’s office. There, they are given a new assignment to take out a Nazi officer who personally led countless Jews to the gas chambers at Auschwitz.

Things seem simple enough at first but, in typical Brad Taylor fashion, this straightforward mission quickly becomes far more complex than anyone could have ever anticipated. S00n the three-man Samson team goes from playing offense to defense, as they work to stop a planned attack they accidentally uncovered.

While Aaron and Shoshana’s past has been touched on in previous books, including this year’s Ghosts Of War, their origin has largely remained a mystery, until now. Thanks to The Target, fans will finally get a glimpse into how Aaron and Shoshanna met, joined the Mossad (separately), and even what drives them to do what they do.

Topping off Taylor’s fiery, adrenaline-pumping short story is an exclusive five-chapter preview of his eleventh full-length novel, Ring Of Fire, which is set to hit bookstores on January 10, 2017.

All in all, this deal is just too good to pass up, as nobody packs as much action into a short story as Brad Taylor. Plus, for just $1.99 you cannot beat the price. Spice your day up by ordering The Target now, just click here
