If you’re on social media, make sure to let the world know that #MitchRappIsBack in Enemy of the State, the latest novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Kyle Mills.
That hashtag, by the way, is special among diehard Rapp fans. It all began in 2015, prior to The Survivor, the fourteenth Rapp novel, coming out.
For those who still aren’t aware, Vince Flynn, the mega-famous Minnesota-based novelist, passed away in June of 2013 at the age of 47 after battling prostate cancer. A year later on June 23, 2014, Emily Bestler–Senior Vince President and Editor-In-Chief of Emily Bestler Books, an imprint of Atria Books at Simon & Schuster–announced that Flynn’s beloved series would continue with bestselling author Kyle Mills at the helm.
In the lead-up to Mills’ first entry into the Rapp franchise, The Survivor, hitting bookstores, Atria Books rolled out the Mitch Rapp Ambassador Program. What started as something small among diehard fans soon blossomed into a movement that dominated social media platforms.
So, what is a Mitch Rapp Ambassador and how do you become one? We’ve got you covered!
The short answer is that when you become a Rapp Ambassador, you get the distinct privilege of reading the latest novel, Enemy of the State, early–way ahead of its September 5th publication date. It’s a nice way to reward longtime fans, and it also serves as a promotional tool which, by the way, has worked well the past two years when you consider that both The Survivor and Order to Kill were #1 New York Times bestsellers.
Hopeful fans are asked three simple questions upon visiting the official Rapp Ambassador page: Have you read all of Vince’s books? When people ask for reading recommendations, do you suggest the Mitch Rapp series? Are you anxiously awaiting the publication of Enemy of the State?
If you go three-for-three with yeses there, then you just might have what it takes to become a Mitch Rapp Ambassador. All you need to do is click here, then follow the directions. Those chosen will receive a free galley (it’s basically a pre-publication paperback version of Mills’ book, sometimes referred to as an ARC or an Advance Readers Copy) of Enemy of the State.
Upon hearing the news that the Rapp Ambassador program was returning for the third straight year, we reached out to David Brown, Deputy Director of Publicity with Atria Books, who told us “Enemy of the State is the perfect book to go through the Mitch Rapp Ambassador program because Kyle has infused so many treats for longtime fans of the series into the story. I can’t wait for Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp fans to start telling other Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp fans about how much fun this book is.”
Having already read Enemy of the State (look for the official review the first week of July!) I can tell you first-hand that Brown is right, this book is a treat for longtime fans of Flynn’s series–and Mills has done a phenomenal job keeping Mitch Rapp alive and well.
So, once again, the hashtag #MitchRappIsBack is special for diehard fans because it marks what has become a holiday season of sorts for dedicated readers. No other publisher has consistently offered a program like this, so don’t miss your chance to be part of something special.
