Earlier this year, Sandie Jones stunned readers with her brilliant, twisting debut novel, The Other Woman, which the New York Times Book Review called “Whiplash-inducing.” Now, she’s gearing up to release her next thriller, titled The First Mistake, which is due out in June 2019.
Back in September, I interviewed Jones just before the release of The Other Woman and asked her about her next book. At the time, she told me, “There’s a second novel in the making, a thriller based on the secrets and lies between a husband, wife, and her best friend.
“I wrote the first draft very quickly after The Other Woman and as every author will tell you,” she continued, “the second novel is notoriously difficult! So it was perhaps no surprise to find most of it on the cutting room floor! By the time you reach the fourth or fifth draft you hope it’s going to be knocked into some kind of shape that you’re happy with. I’m at that stage now. I’ll work on perfecting it between now and Christmas, ready for its release next Spring!”
While teaser certainly set the table, we now have the official plot details for The First Mistake, and boy, are they juicy. Check ’em out below!

HER BEST FRIEND
