See the Plot Details for Marc Cameron’s Next Tom Clancy Thriller, ‘Shadow of the Dragon’

Jack Ryan, America’s favorite president, returns to bookstores on November 17th in Marc Cameron’s all-new thriller, Tom Clancy Shadow of the Dragon.

Dragon will be Cameron’s fourth Jack Ryan book—his first, Tom Clancy Power and Empie, came out back in 2017—and is the 30th novel set in Clancy’s universe, following Mike Maden’s Tom Clancy Firing Point, which came out in June and debuted at #3 on the New York Times list.

Cameron, who had the tough job of replacing Mark Greaney, who had written with Clancy on several books before going solo and keeping the Ryanverse afloat following Clancy’s death in 2013, has received rave reviews from both critics and readers for the amazing work he’s done in the series since taking over. In fact, Publishers Weekly wrote that of all the writers who have contributed to this series since Clancy’s death, “Cameron’s formidable performance puts him at the head of the pack.”

This time around, Ryan returns to take on a plethora of problems, including a missing Chinese scientist, odd noises coming from under the Arctic ice, and—perhaps most concerning—a possible mole operating inside America’s intelligence network.

Check out the official plot detail below.

Tom Clancy Shadow of the DragonA missing Chinese scientist, unexplained noises emanating from under the Arctic ice, and a possible mole in American intelligence are just some of the problems that plague President Jack Ryan in the latest entry in Tom Clancy’s #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Aboard an icebreaker in the Arctic Ocean a sonar operator hears an unusual noise coming from the ocean floor. She can’t isolate it and chalks the event up to an anomaly in a newly installed system.

Finding Liu is too great an opportunity for any intelligence service to pass up, but there’s one more problem. A high-level Chinese mole, codenamed Surveyor, has managed to infiltrate American Intelligence. President Jack Ryan has only one choice: send John Clark and his Campus team deep into China to find an old graduate student of the professor’s who may hold the key to his whereabouts. It’s a dangerous gamble, but with John Clark holding the cards, Jack Ryan is all in.
