Exclusive: See the Cover for Mark Greaney’s Next Gray Man Thriller, ‘Sierra Six’ (With Details)

On February 15th, 2022 the Gray Man returns to action in Sierra Six, the next action-packed thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Mark Greaney.

Courtland Gentry, aka the Gray Man, was last seen in this year’s Relentless (out in paperback on August 3) which followed his search for a missing intelligence asset before things took a turn for the worst, once again putting the world’s most deadly assassin on a collision course with a number of bad guys who hope to finally kill him once and for all. That book, Greaney’s tenth in the series, rocketed to the top of the ‘Times list and set the stage for a thrilling follow-up. Sierra Six, Greaney’s eleventh series entry, promises to be just that, with the author telling The Real Book Spy that this one is perhaps his biggest novel in scope to date.

Check out the plot details and cover art below.

It’s been years since the Gray Man’s first mission, but the trouble’s just getting started in the latest entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of a CIA action team.

In their first mission they took out a terrorist leader, at a terrible price. Years have passed. The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he’s remarkably energetic for a dead man.

A decade of time hasn’t changed the Gray Man. He isn’t one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.

“I can’t wait for readers to get their hands on Sierra Six,” said Mark Greaney in an exclusive statement to The Real Book Spy. “It’s larger in scope than any of my other Gray Man books, with action and intrigue taking place over a decade of time. It shows Gentry as a young singleton assassin for the CIA who is pulled out of the field and turned into Sierra Six, a member of a paramilitary team tasked with taking down a terrorist before he can sow devastation against America. Then later, in the present, Gentry learns there is some unfinished business relating to that mission from the past, and the stakes are even higher this time”

That should get readers plenty excited.

2022 is setting up to be a big year for Greaney, with the potential for The Gray Man movie (based on the first book in the series), starring Ryan Gosling (Drive) and Chris Evans (Avengers: End Game) to come out sometime next spring or summer on Netflix. Helmed by the Russo brothers, the same team of directors behind Avengers: Infinity Ward and Avengers: End Game, The Gray Man is one of the most anticipated action films in quite some time, given the hard-hitting source material and incredible star-power behind it. While no official release date has been given, there’s been plenty of news from the movie’s set—which recently wrapped production—in recent weeks, and every indication is that fans could see Gosling in character within the next calendar year.

Readers excited for Sierra Six can now pre-order Greaney’s next novel wherever books are sold.
