THE LAST GUARDIAN: Simon Gervais’ Next Clayton White Thriller Coming this October

On October 10th, Simon Gervais’ Clayon White series is set to continue with his latest action-packed thriller, The Last Guardian.

White, originally introduced as a former air force combat rescue officer turned Secret Service agent, first appeared in Gervais’ 2021 novel, The Last Protector. Most recently, was last seen in The Last Sentinel (2022), which followed Clayton, no longer with the Secret Service, as he tried to protect his fiance’s father, the Vice President of the United States of America, from an assassination attempt. The Last Guardian is the third book in the series, and from what we know so far, it might just be the most explosive entry in the series so far.

In this thrilling installment of the Clayton White series, the former Secret Service agent must sift through layers of deception to uncover the truth behind the FBI director’s assassination and avert a global catastrophe.

Fighting the fentanyl epidemic in the United States is a top priority for President Alexander Hammond, and there’s only one man he trusts―however begrudgingly―to lead the task force: former Secret Service agent and soon-to-be son-in-law Clayton White.

Once reckless in his line of work, White is now determined to keep his future in mind. He and his fiancée, Veronica, are expecting their first child, and there are some risks White is no longer willing to take. But when his investigation into the Red Dragon Triad drug cartel appears to lead to the assassination of the FBI director, White is forced to put his life on the line to find out who is behind the attack and what they’re planning next.

Amid a series of secret identities, betrayals, and terrorist plots, Clayton White must join forces with allies he’s not sure he can trust to save the country he’s sworn to protect and the family he’s vowed to love.

Simon Gervais was born in Montréal, Québec. He joined the Canadian military as an infantry officer, and in 2001, he was recruited by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, where he first worked as a drug investigator. Later he was assigned to antiterrorism, which took him to several European countries and the Middle East. In 2009, he became a close-protection specialist tasked with guarding foreign heads of state visiting Canada. He served on the protection details of Queen Elizabeth II, US president Barack Obama, and Chinese president Hu Jintao, among others. Gervais lives in Ottawa with his wife and two children.
