Confession: I didn’t start reading William Kent Krueger until earlier this year. In preparation for starting Manitou Canyon, I read the previous two books in his series so I’d have some understanding of the characters before writing my review.
But Instead of just knocking out the review and moving on, I fell in love with Cork O’Connor and Krueger’s writing style.
Because Manitou Canyon is number fifteen in Krueger’s bestselling series, I had to run out and get his complete backlist. As some of you who follow this site regularly already know, C.J. Box is one of my favorite authors in the world. While Cork is different than Box’s Joe Pickett, they’re both set in the country and have similar characteristics.
If you haven’t discovered William Kent Krueger’s work yet, and you enjoy authors like Box, Ace Atkins, or Craig Johnson, then I definitely recommend grabbing any of the Cork O’Connor novels. Manitou Canyon is a great place to start, as each book stands on its own story-wise, and it’s set to hit bookstores on September 6, 2016.
Krueger, by the way, has just recently released his book tour information. His Manitou Canyon tour kicks off in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the same day the book comes out. In total, he’s scheduled to make thirty-five stops (fifteen of them Minnesota), signing books in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Arizona, California, Texas and Colorado along the way.
No joke, this is one of the longest book tours I’ve ever seen, which is great for fans. Scroll down to see the graphic will additional information, including the dates and locations where you can go to meet William Kent Krueger. In the meantime, make sure to pre-order Manitou Canyon, and read my full, spoiler-free review here.
